Book Review - The Boy Who Changed the World

This beautiful book for children is based on Andy Andrew's book called THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT.

It is a true story about Norman Borlaug, a young boy who lived in Iowa and who became the Nobel Laureate later in life.

Norman grew up on a farm that raised corn in Iowa. At a young age he made a decision to find a way to fed hungry people all over the world.

As he grew he created special seeds that would grow into super plants and eventually save two billion people from starving.

Let's take a look at how this came to be and what connections brought all of this about in his life (The Butterfly Effect)

Norman met George Wallace (He later became a Vice President of the U.S.) As a child George learned from his father's student George Washington Carver ( He invented hundreds of ways to use peanuts and sweet potatoes).

George Wallace became the Secretary of Agriculture prior to becoming the Vice President under Roosevelt. He was interested in helping people too ,and he hired Norman Borlaug who developed the special seeds.

Do you see how they were all connected. As you read further in the book you learn how Moses and Susan Carver who saved George from outlaws and adopted him were a great influence on George Washington Carver's life.

We do not exist in a vacuum .Our lives are intertwined with each other. Everything we do makes a difference and we were put here on Earth to make a difference.

How have you made a difference in your world? Just think about how reading this precious book to your child may make a difference in his/her life. What you are teaching your child/children and the actions he sees speak volumes .

You never know where your actions will influence and grow into something important. Start with your child and this book. Enjoy!

If this book sounds like something you would like in your own library you can find it on Amazon!
