About the Author
Allyson Richards is 17 years old and a first-time author.  She started writing her first novel when she was 15.

In the summer of 2010, Allyson worked with Joey Travolta and wrote the script for his short film camp project, Friday Night After the Movies. She's attended a conference at the University of North Florida, where she worked with Kristin Harmel in her critique workshop for YA fiction writers.
She was then unexpectedly invited back to this conference next year on a scholarship, awarded to her by the conference director, Sharon Y. Cobb. Later, she was hired by Mrs. Cobb to critique a screenplay she had written.

Allyson lives on a horse farm in Jacksonville Florida. When she's not working on her novels, she is out riding her horse, Gravity.

"Whatever problem I ever face in life--whether it be boys, friends or even writer's block--I always find myself at peace with a pad of paper, a pen, and Gravity by my side."

My Take on the Book
I have to be honest and say that for such a young author I was completely amazed at the depth of her writing. I would not have known that she was a first time writer if I had not been pre-disposed the the knowledge beforehand. The author has done a great job at building a world for her characters through rich description and quality character development. The book was easy to read and made me want to continue reading from the first to the last page. If this book is any indication to books that may follow, I believe that this author has a long career ahead of her!
