Book Review - Wallie Exercises

About the Book
Wallie Exercises is a picture book about a lazy dog who learns about getting in shape from an exercising elephant.  Back content of the book includes original exercises from the story and additional fitness information for parents and teachers.  Wallie Exercises has been featured on People.com and is the recent recipient of a Mom's Choice Award, Parent to Parent Life Buzz Award (5 categories,) and Living Now Book Award.

My Take on the Book
Exercise is the key to mental, emotional,  and physical health. The author takes this concept and transfers it to the life of an overweight and lazy dog named Wallie.

Wallie encounters various animals exercising. Edwin, the elephant, gives Wallie instructions concerning warm ups prior to exercising,  the actual exercises Wallie should do, and the importance of drinking water while exercising. However Wallie has a difficult time with Edwin's program. Wallie finally established his own exercise program that works for him.

If we transfer this information to our children and us, it helps us conceive  a plan for our personal exercise routine which will keep us healthy. Plus like Wallie, we will be able to see how exercising can be fun!

At the end of the book ,the author suggests several games to play which provide various forms of exercise.

So today, gather up your family and brainstorm ways you can exercise as a family and support each other to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
