Book Review - The Case of the Vanishing Diamond

About the Book
As a young man, Fred Rexroad was frustrated with his unsuccessful attempts to find mystery books geared to his age demographic. Several years and dead-end searches later, Rexroad decided to write his own. This culminated in the “Whiz Tanner Mysteries,” a series of books dedicated to middle school boys interested in mysteries. “The Case of the Vanishing Diamond
: A Whiz Tanner Mystery” (ISBN 0981774261) is the latest in this series.

Rexroad believes young adults can solve adult-sized problems through humor and without the help of the CIA, wizardry or dragons. The author’s desire for mystery books with realistic settings and believable situations shines through his characters and their methodical way of thinking in his “Whiz Tanner Mystery” series.

“I want my readers to see these works as believable stories that spark an interest to create their own detective agency, or to try to solve their own mysteries, while they read more about Whiz and Joey,” Rexroad says.

Seventh grader Whiz Tanner and his friend Joey Dent try out for parts in a magic show, but are pulled back into the detective world when they discover a large diamond has been stolen. To make matters worse, two other unexplained thefts have occurred in the area. Together, Whiz and Joey work to solve the mystery as the Tanner-Dent detectives. With the assistance of fellow classmate Bonnie, they stumble upon different clues and suspects that lead them to encourage a magician to turn in a crooked cop.

Rexroad hopes his readers will be inspired by his book, just like he was inspired by the Brains Benton mystery book series years ago.

The Case of the Vanishing Diamond: A Whiz Tanner Mystery” is available for sale online at Amazon.com
and other channels.

About the Author:

My Take on the Book
This was a great book for any mystery lover. It brought me back to some of the Hardy Boys stories that I read as a child and kept me engaged in the book and on the edge of my seat wondering what twists and turns would come next. I enjoyed the characters and the plot of the story and can easily see this as a book that any young adult would enjoy! So pick up this great mystery today!
