Book Review - Peering Through a Mist

About the Book
Finding hope and purpose after losing a loved one can be confusing.

But with death as a teacher, we learn perception.

Janet Lindsey knows this all too well after the tragic death of her only child, 22-year-old son, Gary.

Peering Through a Mist is a mother’s journey through grief and despair after the death of her only son in a tragic accident. A traumatic account of loss, she reveals how she relied on God to find the strength to survive each day.

By detailing her own struggles, Lindsey lends understanding and comfort to fellow sufferers in hopes that they will identify with her story and find their own strength and inspiration. She empathizes the need for readers to validate their own thoughts and feelings that accompany grief.

“We all need hope,” says Lindsey. “Not just in loss, but in this world we live in with all its trials and heartaches.”

My Take on the Book
The author does an amazing job of harnessing emotion into the short pages of her book. As for reading this book I have to say that I didn't know what to expect, but each chapter was so easy to read and the book ends up being so engaging for all. As I mentioned, you will or be on a bit of an emotional ride through this book and the connections that the author makes with spirituality makes the book even stronger for all who read it! While there is much that was beyond my understanding a I have not lost a child, as a reader you are brought into the story and you can truly empathize with the author. This was a well written story that will keep your emotions and your interest from beginning to end!
