My Take on the Book
I could relate to a lot in this book and know that my wife and I get stressed out and this definitely rubs off on the kids too. I appreciated this book greatly and it has some amazing ideas that it presents. Particularly, I was getting concerned in seeing the kids mirroring our strategies (which are not always what I want them to be), and even my younger daughter mirroring her older sister as well (again, not what I am hoping for). This book really provided an intervention to take a pause and restart. The book not only gave me as a parent practical tips, but I loved that it also was written with kids in mind too so that you could teach them what you were learning. All of this is a definite plus and something that we have already started in our home, and it seems to be making a difference!
