About the Book
New York Times best-selling author and leadership expert John Maxwell offers practical insight into learning how to lead the person who matters most-yourself.

The path to leadership begins with a question only few of us ask: How do I lead myself? John Maxwell presents twenty-six insights, not just for those who aspire to positions of leadership but also for veteran leaders who aim to build and improve upon the steps that led them to the front of the line.

Sound leadership will impact any endeavor, but sound leaders are prepared for risk-and importantly, failure-just as they point the way toward achievement. With application exercises and a "Mentoring Moment" to accompany each chapter, The Leadership Handbook presents a road map for a path many may cross but few choose to follow. "A leader," counsels Maxwell, "never has to recover from a good start."

My Take on the Book
I love the leadership teachings of John Maxwell and this book is a treasure trove of great ideas, tips, resources and more to assist you in being a strong professional and personal leader. What you read in this book is profound and really hits close to your own experiences. The author brings in so many practical examples that the reader can relate to. I found that in each section of the book I could see different personal and professional experiences that related to the teachings that he shares. One thing that I will say about this book is that all ages can grow and learn from what is held within its' pages. I wish that I had read this when I was in high school just starting on my own leadership journey as it would have easily paved the road for future decisions that I made along the way. As you read this you will find and feel that you have someone going along with you for the ride as you learn and grow with each page read. Get ready to strengthen your own leadership skills!
